Unterwasserfestival 2026: Switzerland's Premier Underwater Photography Exhibition
The 16th edition of Unterwasserfestival brings the ocean's magic to the heart of Zürich from 19–29 November 2026. Hosted at the renowned Photobastei, this exceptional exhibition showcases the artistry and dedication of underwater photographers who venture into realms most of us will never explore.
Spanning 150 linear meters of exhibition space, the festival presents a carefully curated collection of underwater imagery that transcends traditional nature photography. Each photograph tells a story of patience, technical mastery, and profound connection with the aquatic world -from macro studies of tiny crustaceans to sweeping seascapes alive with light and movement.
This year's exhibition celebrates both the aesthetic beauty and ecological fragility of underwater environments. Through the lens of passionate photographers, visitors encounter the vibrant coral ecosystems, mysterious deep-sea creatures, and serene freshwater habitats that demand our attention and protection.
